About Us
OUR MISSION
Black Girls in Blazers was formed on the premise that Black girls should look and feel good about themselves all the time. We are committed to serving those who are cut from an unprivileged fabric. Together we will help guide them on the path to becoming the powerful, confident, and beautiful women of the generations to come.
OUR HISTORY
We formed our organization to provide young girls with positive solutions to everyday issues. We are a unique group of women that come from different backgrounds but possess one common characteristic. We have all agreed to take ownership of our actions and decisions and to use those experiences to help young girls become the B.O.S.S. (Breaking Out of Society’s Shell) we know they are capable of becoming. With the help of the community and other resources we can lead them on the path to success.
OUR PURPOSE
We do this because we’ve been there. Black girls are often viewed as being aggressive, loud, angry, adult-like and more. This doesn’t include the racial and gender inequalities they are challenged with. Our dedicated sisterhood is here to help not just while they are young, but for a lifetime. As Black women we can provide that sense of belonging that is so often ignored. We encourage parents, teachers, and those who value our Black girls to support our organization. Together we will change the narrative.
